Collage Couture: Holiday Mood

It was probably 1am in the morning when i heard a familiar tune ringing next to my ear. It was one of my many favorite songs from Wang Lee Hom. I turned around hoping to find a tall, handsome, charming man ready to sing his love to me, instead i heard a loud crashing sound roaring through the dark!~ *shoot*~ My sleepy body turned so hard that everything on the table next to my bed went crashing to the floor! IT WAS A DREAM?!?! Unwillingly, i stretched my hand out to pick up my phone, devastated to realize that the beautiful ringing tune came from my phone. "This better be good enough to have spoiled my special moment with prince charming!".

Straining my sleepy eyes to read the SMS on my phone, "Hey moi, my boss gave me 2 rooms at the Genting World Club & 2 Genting cards worth RM200 for us to spend!!! Will call you in the morning to arrange our trip ! good night!"

Actually... not half bad. Business mix with pleasure. I thought that if we could "spice" up the photo taking of the wardrobe, you guys would definitely enjoy browsing "Collage Couture", this is literally blessing knocking at our door. Genting, here we come!

We have decided to deny ourselves with the comfort of our car and insist on a cheaper mode of transportation... RM8.90 per way from 1 Utama, all the way to skyway cable car. Honestly speaking, it really isn't that bad. The only "discomfort" we had really was to drag the bags of clothes from "Collage Couture" all the way.

Home --> car --> bus --> cable car --> halfway round Genting --> hotel room

And the cycle repeated... only this time... backwards...

When we finally arrived at our luxurious 5 star & FREE hotel room., we delayed no more, unpacked our bags of "Collage Couture" fashion and started right away!

It was a professional start! Makeup, studio concept and styling strategy, i mean look at the mess we left for the 5 star housekeeping!

Getting the right dress was not the difficult part, Ling has the right figure that would fit into any clothing under the sun; nor is getting the hair & makeup done. The challenging part was to pose the right way & snap the right shots to deliver professional looking photographs. The both of us really did had a good taste of the ' humble pie'!

It was kind of awkward initially, but as we tried more & more shots, it gotten a 'wee' bit easier each time. We started shooting in the hotel room, we couldn't even bare to imagine going outside where people could see. However, if this would "spice" up our blog for your viewing pleasure, consider this sacrifice of ours... worthy.

Ling had fiercely warned me to not take shots of her face.... initially^.^

Then it gotten easier to face the camera with dark shades covering half her face...^.^...

I've learned one other thing, from the many arts & knowledge of photography, and that is the imagination. It was rather tiring to have to keep seeing images in your head, and the challenging part to was paint that image out live.

Getting the dark shades off wasn't easy, but i convinced her that revealing half of her face wasn't going to be that noticeable. We were making progress here... ^.^

"Try turning more towards the camera, it's really not that noticeable", i know i know... i lied.... but it worked!
